Dr. John Friesen

Dr. Friesen was born and raised in Morden. He attended the high school here and went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Tabor College, Kansas. Dr. Friesen continued his studies in the United States at the Illinois College of Optometry, in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated with a Doctor of Optometry Degree in 1969.

In 1970, Dr. Friesen opened up the doors to his practice. During four decades of practice, Dr. Friesen has lead and set the standard for state-of-the-art optometric offices in Manitoba. Focal Point has always implemented the latest innovations in instrumentation and techniques - offering the very best eye health care available world-wide to Morden and surrounding communities.

Dr. Friesen is a member of the Manitoba Association of Optometrists and continues to expand his understanding of pathology and eye disease at the Pacific University and the American Academy of Optometry.

Dr. Friesen is a past member of the Morden Town Council, as well as, a member of the Westside Community Church. When not at work, Dr. Friesen enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, traveling, golfing, gardening and walking.

Dr. Friesen and his wife Ingrid celebrated his 40th year of Optometry in June 2009. Dr. Friesen looks forward slowing down and retiring from active practice in the summer of 2010.
